Trade policy issues discussed during the Nordic-Baltic Business Confederations meeting
The Nordic-Baltic Trade Policy Meeting was held in Vilnius on 11-12 June at the initiative of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK), where representatives of BusinessEurope members – business confederations – from Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway arrived.
During the visit the topic of competitiveness of European industry was discussed, considering energy independence as a key element, Deputy Minister of Energy Albinas Zanavičius presented the vision of Lithuania’s energy sector in 2050 Future trade policy priorities of the European Union (EU), the global geoeconomy, risk mitigation scenarios and trade barriers, and the implementation of EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus were also discussed. The economic situation and forecasts of the countries and the mood of the industrial sectors in the countries were exchanged.
