26th February 2024 – Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK) became a member of European Biosolutions Coalition, seeking to make a significant contribution to advancing biosolutions on the European agenda, ultimately leading to a more sustainable and resilient future and better opportunities for the biosolution industry.

“We are happy to join forces with major leading bio industries in other European countries in order to advocate for a clear and more streamlined future conditions for bio industry in the EU. Lately we were experiencing phenomenal happenings in the biotech industry, when our biotech startups receive initial seed money from European funds, but later they choose to go and start producing in the US due to better investment climate and regulatory market conditions. If we really want to have key technologies and bio industry in Europe we have to look for an inclusive regulatory approach and policies in the EU”, – said the Vice-President of Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists of LPK and President at Association LithuaniaBIO Tomas Andrejauskas.

The European Biosolutions Coalition is an initiative established by several industry organisations, representing a substantial amount of the companies working with biosolutions in Europe, to elevate the prominence of biosolutions on the European agenda.

The Coalition is dedicated to advocate for the green transition, fostering more intelligent approaches within the industry, and creating enhanced prospects for companies working with biosolutions in the EU.

Current members of the European Biosolutions Coalition are: The Federation of Austrian Industries; Danish industry; The Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers, economiesuisse – the Swiss business federation; The Italian Association for the Development of Biotechnology, Assobiotec; BIO Deutschland.
