On April 14–16th, the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists’ business delegation visited Brussels for high-level meetings with key EU decision-makers, including BusinessEurope, DG MOVE, DG CLIMA, DG TAXUD. Highlights of the mission included a strategic discussion with Commissioner Andrius Kubilius, as well as meetings with Bertrand L’Huillier, Head of Cabinet for Executive Vice President S. Sejourne, also cabinets of Commissioner Hansen (Agriculture) and Commissioner Roswall (Environment and Circular Economy). Lithuanian industry representatives included: Achema, Kauno Grūdai, Lithuanian Ploutry Association, Transport and Logistics Alliance, VMG, Neo Trade Group, BASF Lithuania.
Throughout the visit, fruitful discussions focused on the European Commission’s upcoming strategic steps to address the challenges arising from the shifting geopolitical landscape and evolving transatlantic relations, which risk escalating into a trade war. Now more than ever, Europe must mobilize — enabling industrial resilience, strengthening our defense capabilities, ensuring fair competition, opening and diversifying markets, yet protecting its own and fully unlocking the potential of the Clean Industrial Deal to European industries by supporting them with the needed flexible incentives. Not to mention favourable regulatory climate in the Single market and access to capital.
The mission concluded with a meaningful exchange at the Lithuanian NATO Representation with Ambassador D. Matulionis. Three powerful days of insight, cooperation, and forward-looking momentum to act.
