Meeting former ECB President and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi today, BusinessEurope President Fredrik Persson underlined the urgent need for a strategic approach to the competitiveness of the European Union as a business location and as a place to invest.
A small BusinessEurope delegation, led by its President and including the President of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi, had the opportunity to provide input to Prof. Draghi with the aim of supporting him in his endeavour to produce game-changing proposals on how to improve the competitiveness of our continent.
BusinessEurope President Fredrik Persson said:
“The European business community welcomed the call of the President of the European Commission to do ‘whatever it takes’ to boost the EU’s industrial competitiveness as the European industry is currently in a very challenging situation. We have high expectations of Mario Draghi’s upcoming report, as his important work should lead to concrete actions to put the European economy high on the agenda and back on track in the next institutional cycle.”
